Condo B12 - Ocean View

This was our 5th time staying at Kihei Sands. The accommodations were great as usual. We always love spending time on the patio however this time was marred by an older gentleman who works there who made it feel like we were in trouble every time we threw our water bottles in the patio recycle bin. We consumed the water on the patio but we were rudely confronted twice telling us the recycle bins were for patio use only...that's exactly what we were doing and after we told him he never apologized. He told us to keep our voices down in the morning because people were sleeping, we weren't being loud! Never had we experienced this kind of behavior before. We spent a llot of money to stay there and expect to feel welcomed. We didn't break any rules but were made to feel like it. Not great customer service. There are many places we can stay on the island so I expect better.

This was a great stay. The condo was comfortable. All the supplies and necessities more than adequate. Morning coffee and other guests were friendly and welcoming. The only four was because this particular condo is not as updated as the others but still comfortable. We will be back and always recommend Kihei Sands to others.

Staying at these condos felt very safe. It was wonderful to be able to be so close to the beach with the breathtaking sunsets. Managers at site were very helpful and gave us some good tips on what to see etc.
Condo was a bit dated. Could do with an update, but had everything you needed. Would have been nice to know they had a keurig coffee machine as well as a blender, so that we could've brought our own supplies. Groceries in Hawaii is very expensive, could've saved a bit by bringing some of those items.

They have a time to shut off the gas if you for get so super safe. Everything was super clean and had most everything you could need in the condos .they have a coin operated laundry there. We used it twice but ended going to the laundry mat down the street cuz we. Could wash all of are stuff at the same time and save waitting to do individual loads. We all would stay there again.
It is mostly car dependent to get around but only a short 5-10 minute drive to food and activities.
Great quiet place to stay with the pool and beach ft away.

Our condo was perfect! Great location from to the grocery store, airport and even a beautiful playground for our toddler. We couldn’t have asked for friendlier staff! The patio is the best place to start and end your day in paradise. I would highly recommend this place to family and would love to stay here again.

Coffee & views of outriggers, night skys & sunsets. Whales breaching & waves gently slapping Great grilling in site of the ocean. We spent 10 days here and enjoyed it very much. Our unit B12 was clean and comfortable with a kitchen that was very well stocked. We had a view of the beach from our little balcony.The unit was a little dated but still comfortable. Coffee was ready in the morning on the patio where guests sat and visited or took a walk on the beach. Barbeques were available for use anytime. The beach was beautiful and steps from the patio. It wasn't as busy as beaches further down S.Kihei Rd. where the public can park easily on the road or in a parking lot next to the beach. The location was in a quieter zone away from the strip malls and traffic congestion but close to the highway for driving to other tourist sites. It was a 10 min. drive to Safeway and malls on the highway or a few minutes longer on S.Kihei Road which runs parallel to the water. Connie and Patrick in the office were always available to answer questions and the grounds were well maintained. Check in was easy when we arrived at night. We would definitely return for another visit.

We had a wonderful time at Kihei Sands, unit B12. Everything was just as described. The unit was clean and well maintained. The property managers were responsive and easy to reach. I did not meet Connie but Patrick was very very nice and friendly. The location is perfect and gorgeous. We are a family of 4-2 adults/2 kids. The beach is RIGHT THERE so the kids could go down to swim while we packed up for the day or meal prepped (our kids are older). The water there is very calm, more like a bay, which is actually a welcome respite from pounding waves! Good place to land and regroup. It is very centrally located - about 45 minutes from Big Beach/45 minutes from Honolua Bay. They have beach chairs, coolers, beach toys, noodles, floaties, etc. Everything you could need/want. Will definitely stay again and recommend to everyone!

My family rented several individual condos in this small complex and it was perfect for us all to grill dinner together on the patio. My condo (B12) needed updating. The kitchen in particular. Most of the other condos looked much nicer. It was stocked with everything we needed though. The overall property was well maintained and beautiful. The staff were all wonderful, friendly, and helpful.

We had to be careful in the kitchen with the loose cabinet door where the garbage goes. There is a hole in the downstairs bathtub, a torn screen on the bottom of the sliding screen door, and the living room rug was not clean. One evening a large painting on the stairs fell with a crash. It appeared to be fine, but it looked like the small nail that was used to hold it up was not strong enough. We heard that the repairman was ill and, regardless of these needed repairs, we very much enjoyed our stay.

Our family get away to Kihei Sands was magical. We had 4 units. Each unit was clean, well stocked and was decorated with their own personality. We could not have asked for better living spaces. The property was beautiful. The pool was delightful, the grassy area with lounge chairs was lovely and there was never a problem getting a chair. The community of guests were friendly and fun to engage with. The beach access is right there and the beach is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, SUPing or whatever your heart desires. The beach is perfect for a morning walk or run. We saw turtles each morning on our walk. They have a great S’Mores night on Tuesdays. It is very close to everything we wanted to do. If that isn’t enough, Connie and Peter, are the friendliest, kindest, most generous people I have ever met at a rental place. They helped us with a medical emergency and were so thoughtful. We definitely will come back here with the family again.

Kihei Sands is a great complex, easy central location on the island. The area around the complex is clean and a short few steps onto Sugar Beach for walking, sitting, swimming. There are lounge chairs on the grass in front with a cooling breeze or you can sit at the pool area with more shelter.You have sun all day long and the best position on Sugar Beach.
The condo itself was clean and had starter supplies for dish washing, paper towel and toilet paper rolls. We appreciated a very nice welcome basket of treats for us to enjoy on arrival.
This unit B12 is getting a little tired looking but is still very functional and a joy to stay in.
There are weekly smore parties and other get together seasonal activities, we enjoyed the Thanksgiving pot luck this time, a very inclusive atmosphere.
Overall, one of my favorite places to stay, will return!

Our family of four had a wonderful stay in Maui and Kihei Sands' accommodations and staff were amazing! We found the central location optimal for daytrips and shopping. The local beach was great for afternoon swims and sunset walks. We loved our accommodations - A/C worked well, BBQs are available on site, pool was small but perfect, and the rooms were clean and well appointed. It was our first time in Maui and Kihei Sands was a big part of our outstanding experience. We will return!

We really enjoyed our stay. Our condo served all our needs, and it is just a few short steps from the patio area of the complex to the water at the lovely Sugar Beach.

Our unit was extremely clean and well appointed. My friend and I were up every morning near 6 am sitting on the patio, drinking the morning coffee provided waiting for the sun to come up - a wonderful experience a few feet from the nicest sandy beach I have ever been on. The patio and pool area were lovely and never so busy that one couldn't find a lounge or chair to sit on. The barbecues provided for guests were extremely popular. We were within walking distance of an ABC store and a very popular bakery. The condominium complex is situated in a lovely area of Kihei on a beautiful sandy beach with the ocean beckoning one to have a swim!! Which we did daily. I would recommend this condo complex to anyone wishing to have a pleasant holiday on the island of Maui, you would not be disappointed.

Wonderful view from our lanai! Beautiful flowers and pineapple to great us. We liked the layout of the unit. Nicely outfitted with kitchen ware, towels, beach towels, extra sheets, etc. I really like the keyless entry--quite handy.
Due to water leak we had to rent two different units. Management put us in a 2 BR unit but only charged us the contracted price for the one BR which was very accommodating. The downside is we had to do the cleanup procedure twice and move all of our stuff out and into the second unit. This took vacation time away which upset my husband and daughter and, to be fair, me.
The first unit had a significant roach problem making cooking and eating unpleasant. We let management know and they had it sprayed which helped a lot but we still found live ones in cabinets when we opened them.
The unit needs some remodel. I think the cracked grouting on the tile counter is harboring the critters. Lanai chairs need to be replaced--two were cracked. Downstairs toilet wobbled and needs to be reseated.Downstairs bath tub drained very slowly, needed cleaned out. All the mattresses need to be replaced. Management is aware and, I am sure, will address the issues.
The move to A8 though we hated to do it put us in a newly remodeled clean and much more comfortable setting. No critters! Thank you! We weren't keen on being in the one by the pool but it turned out fine and the comfortable bed made up for it. The couch had better support too making it better sleeping for our daughter. We could tell the owner of this unit took a great deal of pride in appointing it. Felt like home. :)

Location of Kihei Sands quite nice and I prefer smaller condos like this one though parking is a bit tight, it's manageable.

This condo worked great for our family with two small children. It was very comfortable and we loved the beachfront location. It was also a good jumping off point for day trips around the island. Other guests were very friendly while we were there. We experienced great customer service from the office. Connie helped us get a discounted admission to the Maui Ocean Center. There were two issues: cockroaches in the kitchen and the upstairs didn't have hot water. Also, the walls were thin, so when we had neighbors, we could hear them moving furniture or walking around. Our only complaints didn't distract from the overall experience, however, and we would stay there again.

Our families came for a wedding and we loved our units, clean and comfortable.

We had a great stay. We love the location and this is our second time staying at Kihea Sands. The outdoor cooking area was such a great advantage and the view right on the beach was perfect. We felt safe and secure as we were traveling with an extended family with a total of five children 7 years and younger. We hope to return to Hawaii and would definitely stay at Kihei Sands again.

Our stay at Kihei Sands was simply amazing. We were there for 2 full and fabulous weeks over Spring Break. You don't just rent a condo at Kihei Sands, but you are warmly invited to join the community which is Kihei Sands. The beach is fabulous. Sandy swimming in front with a decent reef just off to the right for snorkeling. The lanier is nice and comfortable. We always found somewhere nice to sit. We were in two units during our stay, and the staff were so extremely helpful and nice. We could not recommend Kihei Sands enough. We will most certainly stay there on our next visit to the beautiful island of Maui.

I couldn't imagine a more relaxing place to stay. The Staff was phenomenal and felt like part of the family. The beach felt like a private beach just for us. The condos were clean and comfortable.

Our rental was very clean upon arrival with all the necessities already there. The condo is located right on the beach with a nice grassy lawn to wipe your inevitably sandy feet off on. A short drive from downtown Kihei makes the rental very desirable aswell.

I represent 12 guests that are my friends and family for which I manage the reservations. They came to Maui to visit me for 3-4 weeks. I live in Kihei. I know all of the places as far as options that they could stay at very well. I have chosen the Kihei Sands as the place to stay for my friends and family every year for the past 15+ straight years. It has a local atmosphere. The managers are hard working and courteous. Best of all it is the right size so that you get to have a neighborhood feel when meeting others around the pool and BBQ area. The beach is a beautiful sandy beach. The location is excellent. It is quiet, clean and beautifully landscaped. Stay at the Kihei Sands!!!

Calming, restful vacation in quaint condo with everything we needed for a family of four. Listen to the ocean from every room! Staff always accommodating and Cheri is an amazing baker!

Location is great, pool, lanai and ocean are awesome, property is clean and well cared for. But unit B12 was not my first choice but due to a communication mix up between me and office as that was all that was available. The upper window has a bamboo shade that lets the light in, in particular the stairwell lights from Sugar Beach. This shines straight into the upstairs bedroom. If you are sensitive to light at night like I am this is a problem. You also can see straight outside from the upper bedroom so you have to stand by the bathroom to get dressed. Furniture, appliances and decor is the same as it was when we stayed in 2010. I believe they were putting new comforters on the week we left. New air con is excellent but there is no air con in the main floor bedroom, a small amount of money spent on a window unit or portable could fix this. We had to put a fan in the living room to blow the cool air into the bedroom. Don't believe the line about the tradewinds cool things down at night. The hide-a-bed mattress is thin, we put every extra blanket on top to give it some padding. We have stayed at Kihei Sands 3 times and would stay again just not in B12. It is purely a rental unit, the owner has other units and is only interested in renting it out and not spending money to upgrade it. I was in 2 other units and they were so much nicer than ours and we paid the same rate. Pot luck dinners and other activities are a nice plus. Great for families.

Location was great, easy to get everywhere from here. Property was very nice and well kept, beach was good. Not great snorkelling, but good bodysurfing and playing for our kids as well. Felt very safe.

This condo was great and the kitchen was newly redone. The management was right on in their recommendations of places to see and do. We met many nice people and will stay there again next year. The shopping is very close and the beach was great.

Great property that we would definitely return to. Managers were very kind, helpful, and responsive to any contact we made with them. The upper loft was very spacious with a large comfortable bed. Because this unit is next to another vacation property it would be nice if there were darkening shades over the very top windows above the dining area because the daytime and nighttime lights shine into the bedroom loft. Nicely set up kitchen with plenty of supplies to prepare meals.
